ROMANCE SCAM

Hello and welcome to my site. I would like to share an article which known in the internet community as Romance Scam.

Romance scam is social engineering which is defined as the clever manipulation of the human tendency to trust. Also define as a confidence trick involving a foreigner which has a romantic intentions towards the victim, gaining their affection, and then using that goodwill to commit fraud. These fraudulent acts may involves access to the victims' money, bank accounts, credit cards if there's any, passport, e-mail accounts, and/or national identification numbers or by getting the victims to commit financial fraud on their behalf.

Scammers post profiles, usually on some dating websites, using some stolen pictures of attractive men, asking women to contact them. Upon finding their victims, scammers will ask them to be more private in terms of communication such as providing an e-mail address for the fraud to occur. Letters will then be exchanged between the scammer and the victim until the scammer feels they have groomed the victim enough to ask for money. It might be some requests for medical expenses, education expenses especially for the kids, etc. This is usually the period of time where a scammer promise to be with the victim in her country.

The scammer usually ends when the victim realizes they are being scammed and/or stops sending money. Victims can be highly traumatized by this and are often very ashamed when they know that they had been a victim of this kind of scam and that the romance the foreigner had promise is fake.

This is some tricks that a scammer does upon working on with his victim:

* The scammer will ask the victim is she wants to meet, and when the victim says yes, he will told the victim he will send a package with some boxes of chocolates, a laptop of any brand with a laptop bag, an ipad or an iphone, a document, a set of gold rings, a set of wristwatches and etc.

* The scammer will tell the victim that he enclose beneath the laptop $100 so that the victim can do whatever she likes to do. And also tells the victim that he also included his ATM with a whooping $25000 inside and that she should find a condo or any place to buy using the money, but, the ATM will only be use if the victim would message the scammer after she receive the package.

To all the women who were trying their luck on the internet dating website, be very observant. Beware!
